Black Hole Simulator — Gravity & Spacetime

This free black hole simulation renders a Kerr black hole with adjustable mass (1–80 solar masses) and spin parameter, showing the event horizon, photon sphere (1.5 Rs), and ISCO (3 Rs). Enable gravitational lensing to watch 200 background stars warp around the singularity, and toggle the animated accretion disk with temperature-colored rings from blue-white inner regions to orange-red outer zones. Launch individual particles or a ring of 12 to trace geodesics including GR corrections and Kerr frame-dragging.

What you can do in this simulation

  • Adjust black hole mass (1–80 M☉) and spin (0–0.99) with sliders
  • Toggle gravitational lensing of background star field
  • Enable or disable accretion disk with temperature-colored rings
  • Launch single particles or a ring of 12 at variable speed and angle
  • Clear particle trails and reset to study different configurations

Concepts covered
