Buffer Solution Simulator – pH Resistance Online Lab

Buffers maintain near-constant pH by neutralizing added acid or base through a weak acid and its conjugate base. This interactive simulation lets you compose a buffer, then add strong acid or base and observe the dampened pH response. Unlike a pure acid-base simulator, this tool specifically targets buffering capacity and the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation.

What you can do in this simulation

  • Mix a weak acid and its conjugate base salt at chosen molar ratios to create a buffer
  • Add increments of strong acid (HCl) or strong base (NaOH) and track pH on a graph
