EM Induction Lab
Electromagnetic Induction Simulator — Faraday & Lenz
This electromagnetic induction lab simulates four foundational induction phenomena. Faraday mode shows a bar magnet oscillating through a coil with live scrolling graphs of magnetic flux and induced EMF. Lenz mode demonstrates the opposing current direction as a magnet approaches or retreats from a conducting ring. Generator mode animates a rotating coil between poles with an AC voltage waveform output. Transformer mode shows primary and secondary coils with animated flux and a calculated voltage ratio.
What you can do in this simulation
- Adjust coil turns (10–500) and magnetic field strength (0.1–3.0 T)
- Control animation speed (0.1–5x) for detailed analysis
- Switch between Faraday, Lenz, Generator, and Transformer modes
- Watch live scrolling graphs of flux and induced EMF vs. time
- See step-up/step-down label and voltage ratio in Transformer mode
Concepts covered
Faraday's law · Lenz's law · magnetic flux · electromagnetic induction · AC generator · transformer
