Electromagnetic Waves Simulator — E & B Field Visualization

This EM waves simulator renders the oscillating electric (red) and magnetic (blue) field components of an electromagnetic wave propagating along a horizontal axis, with field vectors at tick-mark intervals showing direction and phase. A transverse cross-section panel shows polarization state — a vertical oscillating dot for linear polarization or a circular trace for circular polarization. Enable the dipole radiation view to see the characteristic sin²θ toroid radiation pattern with polar plot.

What you can do in this simulation

  • Adjust frequency (1.0–8.0) and amplitude (0.1–1.5) of the EM wave
  • Toggle between linear and circular polarization modes
  • Enable dipole radiation view to see the sin²θ polar radiation pattern
  • Observe the transverse cross-section of E-field polarization
  • View standard EM equations overlay (c = f·λ, E/B = c)
