Quantum Field Theory Simulator — Feynman Diagrams & Higgs

This quantum field theory lab visualizes four foundational QFT concepts. Feynman Diagrams mode shows an animated e⁺e⁻ → γ → μ⁺μ⁻ diagram with wavy photon line and a glowing virtual photon. Vacuum Polarization mode animates virtual electron-positron pairs orbiting a central charge with a screening cloud. Higgs Mechanism mode renders the Mexican hat potential V(φ) as a 3D plot with a ball rolling around the vacuum minimum and VEV labeled. Renormalization mode plots QED α(Q) and QCD αs(Q) vs. log energy scale, showing asymptotic freedom.

What you can do in this simulation

  • Adjust energy scale Q (1–1000 GeV) and coupling constant (10–100)
  • View animated Feynman diagram for e⁺e⁻ → γ → μ⁺μ⁻
  • See vacuum polarization with virtual pair cloud and screening radius
  • Explore Higgs Mexican hat potential with rolling ball at vacuum minimum
  • Read QED and QCD coupling strengths vs. energy from the renormalization plot
